CINDY MATYI of Cincinnati, Ohio, creates large impressive oil paintings which combine selected characteristics of varying art movements into visionary works. . Medieval art plays a role with her use of intricate patterns and intertwining elements derived from the Celtic art movement and there is a hint of surrealism in her commitment to express imagination. An artist, musician, visionary and founder of the prestigious award winning Cincinnati Celtic World Festival,  Matyiholds a BFA in painting from the College of Mt. St. Joseph, and her education includes post graduate studies in Irish Language at UC. She has presented various workshops on Celtic art, history and spirituality around the country. "I feel that this style, with its fantastical variations on the interconnectedness of the natural world, adapts well to the themes of my work which include ecology, peace, renewal and creativity. Celtic designs fascinate people, and I add many chromatic variations to delight and attract viewers on an aesthetic basis, while gently luring them into the world of the painting and the message it contains."
